Toro Dairy Recognized at International Day of Cooperatives

A Celebration of Cooperative Excellence

On 5th July 2025, Toro Dairy Cooperative Society Limited proudly hosted the National Celebrations of the International Day of Cooperatives at Fort Portal Boma Grounds under the global theme: "Driving Inclusive and Sustainable Solutions for a Better World."

The colorful event brought together 1000s of farmers, cooperative leaders, government officials, and partners from across Uganda to celebrate the power of cooperatives in advancing inclusive development. Guests experienced exhibitions, cultural performances, and testimonies showcasing how cooperatives are transforming communities through enterprise, innovation, and solidarity.

In recognition of its outstanding role in successfully organizing the national celebrations, Toro Dairy Cooperative Society Ltd was honored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives with an award and certificate of excellence. This prestigious recognition highlighted the cooperative's leadership in mobilizing communities and its commitment to advancing Uganda's cooperative movement.

The award marked a proud moment not only for Toro Dairy but for all partners and farmers who contribute daily to the cooperative's success. It also underscored the importance of strong partnerships between government, cooperatives, and communities in building inclusive and sustainable solutions for the future.
